Brighter Banking Marketing Campaign: Positioning Solarity Credit Union as a Modern, Member-First Financial Partner
Solarity Credit Union, a Washington-based financial institution, partnered with Chartwell Agency to launch a brand-forward campaign that clearly articulated who Solarity serves and why its approach is fundamentally different.
Challenge
As Solarity expanded into new communities and evolved its service model, it needed a cohesive narrative to highlight deliberate customer-experience decisions made around branch design, staffing structure, and technology investments. The campaign had to accomplish three things:
- Speak directly to the member profile at the center of Solarity’s strategy
- Demonstrate how technology simplifies daily banking
- Reinforce that Solarity’s personal financial guidance remains central to the banking experience
Insight
By defining who it serves best, Solarity designed a service model around a specific client persona. That persona became the foundation for the campaign, guiding every messaging and creative decision to ensure alignment with its new focus.
The idea of Brighter Banking emerged from this positioning. It connected the Solarity name to transparency, simplicity, and expertise. “Bright” became both a visual cue and a metaphor for a smarter, more empowering banking experience.
Solution
Chartwell developed Brighter Banking as a scalable, integrated campaign that clearly articulated Solarity’s value proposition.
The messaging emphasized:
- Flexible banking solutions
- Smart digital tools that simplify daily interactions
- Financial guides who provide proactive, personalized support
Chartwell also built flexibility into the campaign so creative could be adapted to support new branch openings, promote specific products, and drive broader brand awareness as it entered new markets.
Execution
Multiple coordinated touchpoints were developed to deliver a consistent and unified message:
- Social Media: Engaging posts, short-form video, and interactive content highlighting member stories, financial education, and digital capabilities to build trust and drive engagement.
- Video: Brighter Banking was brought to life through a main campaign video, as well as authentic videos for products, branch openings, and other needs.
- Radio: The campaign was also complemented with radio ads tied into the overall brand and specific products/services and key initiatives.
- Advertising (Digital and Traditional): Targeted digital placements with updated creative designed to reach high-potential audiences, while traditional media utilized the new campaign assets to reinforce awareness.
- Collateral/Branding: All marketing pieces – from external collateral to internal marketing and signage – were refreshed to ensure consistent branding across every touchpoint.
Each tactic reinforced the same core message that banking can be simpler, clearer, more empowering, and brighter.
Results
Brighter Banking translated a complex service transformation into a clear, compelling narrative that is bright and confident.
The campaign strengthened Solarity’s brand as modern, approachable, and technologically advanced while reinforcing the importance of personal guidance. It also provided a scalable framework that supports continued growth, product promotion, and brand initiatives.
