Six Banks to One: Helping Employees & Customers Navigate a Bank Consolidation

Founded in 1986, Foresight Financial Group, Inc. is an Illinois-based financial holding company representing six well-established local community banks.

In 2025, Foresight consolidated these institutions into a single charter and unified brand, a significant operational and regulatory shift impacting thousands of commercial and retail customers.

Before any customer communications could begin, the consolidation required extensive internal alignment across six independent banks, each with its own leadership team, board, and staff.

Additionally, as part of regulatory requirements, Foresight needed a customer-facing guide that explained what was changing, what was staying the same, and how the transition would benefit account holders, while meeting strict compliance guidelines.

Solution

Before developing customer-facing materials, Chartwell supported Foresight with extensive upfront internal alignment to ensure consistency across all six banks. This included streamlining complex operational and regulatory information into clear internal messaging.

To support the transition to the public, Chartwell developed six transition guides, tailored to each bank’s brand and local market. While consistent in message and compliance, each guide reinforced the individual bank’s community identity and Foresight’s “true local” approach.

The project included six 24-page transition guides and two 16-page disclosure booklets and were distributed to more than 33,000 customers on time and in full regulatory compliance.

Each transition guide was designed with the customer experience as the top priority. Content included leadership messages and talking points, a consolidation overview, key dates, branch location map, and clear explanations of personal and business banking products. Easy-to-scan layouts, FAQs, alert icons, logos, and side-by-side product transition tables helped customers quickly understand changes and required actions.

Chartwell also managed production, printing, and mailing to ensure all materials were delivered by mandated deadlines.

Outcomes

Foresight’s marketing and leadership teams praised the guides for their clarity, usability, and visual quality. The materials played a critical role in helping customers understand the consolidation and move through the transition with confidence in their banking institution.
