New Website and Brand Identity Advance RMTC’s Rural Health Impact

Rural Medical Training Collaborative (RMTC), formerly known as The RTT Collaborative, is a cooperative of undergraduate and graduate medical programs focused on sustaining health professions in rural communities through education, training, networking, mutual encouragement, and peer learning. RMTC’s participating programs support medical professionals passionate about the unique needs of rural people and places.

With new leadership, a name more reflective of the organization’s mission, and a reinvigorated brand, RMTC next wanted a website that would clearly serve the needs of several audiences including health professions students looking for programs aligned to their interest, schools interested in promoting their rural health programs and tracks, and communities looking to support the availability of rural health services. Additionally, the site needed to serve as a resource for rural health advocacy information and efforts.

Solution

In partnership with Chartwell Agency, RMTC embarked on a rebranding and website design initiative, focused on aligning the website with the new brand identity, ensuring a visually modern look while honoring the organization’s rich history.

Leveraging its expertise in content development, Chartwell Agency collaborated with key stakeholders for clarification around the organizational goals and the role the website should play in facilitating the exchange of information, connecting students and programs, and promoting the importance of rural health. This collaboration led to a complete overhaul of the website’s information architecture. The goal was to make essential resources—such as participating program details, upcoming events, and services available—easily accessible.

Given the increasing importance of mobile access, the new website was designed with a mobile-first approach. This ensured that the site would function smoothly across all devices, offering a consistent experience whether users were on smartphones, tablets, or desktop computers. Chartwell designed the website with ongoing content creation and maintenance in mind, prioritizing ease of use for RMTC staff to add and scale content within the theme.

Outcomes

The launch of RMTC’s redesigned website following an organizational rebranding effort marked a significant step forward. The new site successfully reflects a fresh brand identity, offering a modern and cohesive digital presence. The streamlined presentation of information, intuitive navigation, and focus on the user journey makes it easier for visitors to find key resources and engage with the content that matters most.

The redesigned RMTC website is a powerful tool that reflects the organization’s commitment to rural health education and workforce development. By aligning the website with the updated brand identity, enhancing its functionality, and improving accessibility, the new site better serves RMTC’s audience and strengthens its ability to engage with the community.
