Our roots
In 2002, Rebecca Epperson launched PR Etc., a boutique public relations firm located in the bedroom of her home on Chartwell Drive in Rockford, Illinois. As the media and marketing landscapes became more complex – the rise of social media, SEO and digital marketing – PR Etc. began integrating additional lines of service to help better meet the needs of its clients. In September of 2014, PR Etc. officially chartered its own new path by rebranding to Chartwell Agency, a fully integrated communications firm comprised of facilitation & training, public relations, marketing, digital media and crisis communications.
Growing from the bedroom
Today, Chartwell Agency is known for its results, relationships and astounding workplace culture. This is a direct result of our team members, which have a diverse wealth of backgrounds and experiences upon which we draw for our clients. We know that to be effective in today’s information-saturated market, it is essential to create and implement strategies across multiple channels – media, marketing collateral, websites, outreach efforts, social media and more. We believe that no two clients are the same, so we create integrated, customized and effective communications strategies as unique as each of our projects.

This approach is rooted in ownership. Every Chartwellian is responsible for managing their time, communicating effectively, and following through on commitments. In return, they’re given the flexibility to balance professional responsibilities with personal priorities.
Our full-time team member utilization results are based on a standard 40-hour work week, though the specific hours, location, and manner in which this work is completed are at the team member’s discretion. Delivering high-quality results, reaching utilization targets, and meeting deadlines are all important results every Chartwellian is responsible for achieving. While flexibility is a cornerstone of WorkWell, our work remains highly collaborative and client-focused. That means being available when it matters – whether for team collaboration, client meetings, or key deliverables.
Ultimately, WorkWell isn’t about where you work; it’s about how you show up. It’s a culture built on trust, driven by results, and designed to support both high performance and real life.
