Chartwell Agency Develops and Implements Integrated and Digital Campaigns for Rockford University

Chartwell Agency, an award-winning marketing firm based in northern Illinois, recently developed, and implemented a digital advertising campaign to promote Rockford University’s five new degrees. The firm also created an integrated communications plan for the University’s Horizon Grant.

Successful Digital Campaigns

Rockford University is a private four-year, co-educational institution founded in 1847 offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in traditional liberal arts and professional fields. The University introduced five new degrees in opportunity-rich fields.

Leveraging its expertise in digital education marketing and storytelling, Chartwell Agency designed digital assets and landing pages for each of the new degree programs. The digital campaign included targeted email, display and social media ads, and OTT (streamed video ads). Each of the digital tactics had a call to action with a link to the corresponding landing page for the specific degree.

The campaign included stock photography and video of students performing tasks related to the degree being promoted. The engaging photos featured vibrant colors, complemented by strong copy and effective calls to action targeting potential students.

The landing pages were university-branded, matched the digital campaign creative and included informative copy about the degree, infographics highlighting stats for the degree industry, campus experience highlights, curriculum details, frequently asked questions, and a call to action to enroll.  

The three-month digital campaign garnered 401,162 digital impressions with 7,085 clicks to its website.

Proactive Integrated Campaign

In 2023, the University launched the Horizon Grant which allows new or transfer students to attend the institution for $5,000 a year for up to four years.

Using its expertise in education marketing campaigns, Chartwell Agency helped Rockford University create a name for the grant and an integrated campaign to support the school’s goal of promoting it to prospective students and their families.

Chartwell Agency developed a comprehensive strategy to help reach the school’s target audience. The tactics consisted of a website landing page, targeted email, digital campaign (social media and display ads), 30-second TV and radio commercials, and a billboard. The campaign also included college fair recruitment materials such as banners and other signage.

The firm developed a scalable concept that could be used to promote the Horizon Grant program in various formats and through multiple mediums. The campaign leveraged school branding, bright colors, and student images to engage with prospective students. A strong headline and call to action was included to grab the audience’s attention and encourage them to click through to the Horizon grant landing page for more information.
