Since 2005, the Navy Week program has served as the Navy’s primary outreach effort into areas of the country without a significant Navy presence. The program is designed to help Americans in the heartland understand that their Navy is deployed around the world, around the clock, ready to defend America at all times.
In June 2019, the Quad Cities hosted a variety of Navy outreach assets, equipment and personnel for a week-long series of engagements with key influencers and organizations representing all sectors of the community.
Solution
Chartwell Agency was hired to help the Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO) and General Dynamics (GDIT), Navy Week subcontractors, facilitate meetings and special engagements with Quad Cities’ business leaders, service organizations, educational institutions, and others. Chartwell also was charged with coordinating media relations throughout the week, working with local media to promote appearances, events, and understanding and support of the U.S. Navy.
