Laborers’ Local #32 is a diverse, independent, and progressive union of construction craft laborers dedicated to the success, safety, and welfare of its members, apprentices, partners, and community.
The organization wanted to position itself as a modern and responsive organization positioned for growth and continued success. To do that, Local #32 wanted a newly designed website that would embrace digital innovation and meet the evolving needs of its members and partners by prioritizing user-friendly design, mobile accessibility, and streamlined workflows.
Solution
To begin the website redesign project, Chartwell Agency collaborated with Local #32 stakeholders to define objectives and assess the existing website’s strengths and weaknesses. The firm quickly recognized the significance of mobile accessibility and user-centric design and formulated a comprehensive strategy to address these priorities.
Leveraging their website design expertise, Chartwell Agency executed a mobile-first approach, ensuring seamless access to essential resources for members on various devices. The improved mobile accessibility provides on-the-go access to the member portal, important forms, third-party links, and contact information.
The user experience was elevated through intuitive navigation and accessible content presentation, emphasizing key information such as membership benefits and resources, updated wage information, how to become an apprentice, and information on Local #32’s partners.
The inclusion of conveniently placed buttons on the homepage offered users effortless pathways to explore additional information as needed, further enhancing the website’s user-friendly design. Streamlined workflows and communication channels were established, fostering seamless interaction between members and the organization.
Additionally, the backend infrastructure underwent a significant overhaul, enabling efficient content management and maintenance. By customizing content management systems to meet Local #32’s specific needs, administrators were empowered to manage the website efficiently, ensuring its sustainability and adaptability for future growth.
Finally, the new website incorporated design elements that effectively leverage the organization’s brand identity to connect with members. Through a leveraged integration of the Local #32 brand colors, typography, and logo, the website gives a visually unified experience reflective of the organization’s values and mission. Original and stock images are thoughtfully curated to highlight the diversity and vibrancy of membership and also reinforce the organization’s message of fostering deeper connections with users.
Outcomes
Launching the redesigned Laborers’ Local #32 website marked a significant milestone in the organization’s digital transformation journey. The revamped website has garnered positive feedback from members, administrators, and partners.
The new website met the objectives of the client by providing improved mobile accessibility, enhanced promotion of membership value and community engagement, streamlined workflows and communication channels, elevated user experience, and simplified backend maintenance.
