Top Reasons Your Credit Union Marketing Team Can Benefit from an Agency

credit union marketing teams working around a table

This past week, the Chartwell financial marketing team attended the 2022 Marketing Association of Credit Unions (MAC) Conference. It was an amazing experience to network with some of the best and brightest credit union marketing teams across the nation. We found ourselves having conversations about credit union marketing, branding, loan generation campaigns, social media strategy, website development, and learned more about what credit union marketing teams are facing today.

Some credit unions with small marketing teams are having to make decisions on what they set aside so they can focus on other timely initiatives. This can result in less engagement on social media, a stagnant website that might not be driving new leads, and perhaps more missed opportunities to capture new members and increase loan growth. On the flipside, credit unions with larger marketing departments are more likely to have dedicated team members for specific needs, such as a digital strategist that’s solely responsible for digital marketing, the website and mobile app, or a content specialist that focuses on specific products. Some are finding the benefits of outside marketing partners engaging in larger projects, such as a rebrand or new website because of the third-person perspective, fresh ideas and specialized expertise brought to the team.

Our time at MAC brought to light how we can further meet the needs of credit unions today to help them (and the industry) continue grow and thrive.

Here are the top reasons how a marketing agency can help your credit union marketing team:

Access to Loan Generation Rock Stars

An agency gives you access to creative rock stars that will provide fresh, new ideas to get you measurable results. Turn your loan generation campaigns from flat to fabulous with engaging content and stellar video and graphics that will take the pressure off your team while helping to engage with current members and recruit new ones.

Data-Driven Mindset

Tell your story using data! Using data as part of your marketing strategy does not have to be complicated or expensive. What data do you currently have and how can you use it to benefit your bottom line? An agency can look at your brand and growth strategy with a data-driven mindset to help better tell your story and inspire action from your audience. By reviewing your internal data (from your core database) and external data (Google and social media analytics, keyword research, etc.) an agency can help develop a more strategic approach to reach your ideal audience and increase your field of membership.

Experience Powerful (re)Branding

At MAC, we learned that many credit unions are going through or considering a rebrand. An agency can lead your credit union rebranding efforts with a third-person perspective to bring about innovation, creativity, and problem solving meant to attract new members and rekindle an interest from your existing members.

Peace of Mind Marketing

We know you’re passionate about your members, financial education, and giving back to the communities you serve. And with a full-service marketing agency by your side, you will experience peace of mind knowing you have access to a marketing director, creative department, content strategists, social media experts, website designers, digital marketing gurus, videographers and more – so you have more time (and budget) to continuing making an impact on your members and communities you serve.

At Chartwell, our team is uniquely equipped and structured to help credit unions grow their bottom line through more strategic marketing and communications, and we have a lot of fun in the process! We are thinkers and doers and can provide extra hands during times of transition or we can dedicate a consistent level of support to become an extension of your team.
